Annual Art Contest
Every year, Blanchard Memorial School fourth grade students are invited to design art that illustrates native animals, insects, or habitats of Boxborough. With the guidance of their art teacher, the children create an original piece of art work.
BCTrust awards a first, second, and third place, and sometimes honorable mentions. The award-winning work is then printed as a t-shirt and becomes a source of great pride for the students, their families, and the school.
In this way, the BCTrust fosters a sense of community between the school and town, bridges the generations, and encourages our youngest citizens to take pride in and protect the natural beauty of Boxborough.
Spring 2023 contest winners are: Aquinna Caprara (Blanding’s turtle), Sadie Harris (metamorphosis), and Aine Brady and Ella Roland (snake/multiple amphibians and reptiles). Thank you to this year’s contest coordinator, Soojin Erikson and judge Becca Edson, and especially Brittany Martinez, Blanchard art teacher!
